An oriental carpet is the fruit of long centuries of artistic tradition that remains alive and unchanged today because it is the genuine expression of the heart of a people. In the places where they are made carpets are a way of life, each household possesses a loom and the humblest of dwellings may conceal an artist. A carpet is created knot after knot, thread after thread, day after day and is discovered by expert purchasers and eventually reaches our shop. We love beauty and we seek the best that human skill, intelligence and imagination can create. For us a warm and welcoming home without carpets is inconceivable, because it is these more than anything else that give life and warmth to a home, that make it welcoming and refined, unique just as each carpet is unique.

We count ourselves fortunate because the price of carpets is still affordable thanks to the low cost of labour in the countries in which they are made. All oriental carpets are knotted by hand and a great many knots are required. It takes two craftsmen or craftswomen at least three months to make a small size carpet of medium quality. A high concentration or "density" of knots ensures that a carpet will be last a long time and that is why oriental carpets not only decorate a house but are also a useful investment.
With the passage of time their value increases and an old carpet well conserved is worth more than a similar one that is new.
